Parliament statement on the speakers said statements.

The Ugandan August house has finally come out todays to address the ongoing accusations on the leader and speaker of the parliament.
In a press release that has been put out on the parliament different pages’ claims that the video as seen does not capture what was fully said and that there are people who are attempting to to complete her[speaker] based on their own biases.

They add that this video must have been characterized and has been rejected as a poor attempt of using artificial intelligence to score their political goals.

This was all communicated in a document signed and approved by the PR of the parliament Mr. Chris Obore who also adds that a certain number of MPs are had alleged that the coffee amendment bill 2024 was a poison served by the government to the people of Buganda.

He further adds that the speaker was only rectifying on these claims that the speaker was just tasking the government chief whip not to allow tribal statement to obscure the general intent of the bill.
“The speaker enjoys an intentional and respectful relationship with the people and leadership of Buganda, which is why she met the Buganda caucus hours before discussing the bill on the floor of parliament”. It stated
Document concludes that the speaker of parliament urges Hon. Members to debate and mobilize for or against the Bill without tribal lenses.
