Rt. Hon Anita Annet Among the speaker of the 11th Parliament of Uganda has confirmed not running for the second term as the speaker of Parliament and seeks to let Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa to take over for the next term in parliament
The speaker revealed while at a thanks giving ceremony at St Karoli Lwanga Kigarama Parish and the thanks giving was organized by the family of Thomas Tayebwa and his father Mzee Daudi Bangirana.
The event was organized at the new church that is being constructed by Hon Tayebwa and saw a number of elites in attendance and raised over 1.7 Billion shillings such that the final work gets done on the church.
During the same event, The Speaker Rt Hon Anita Annet Among thanked the people of Mitooma for electing Tayebwa whom she referred to as a disciplined leader.
“He is a deputy who knows what his role is. He is so down to earth and very social. We want to request you to bring him back” She Said.
Rt. Hon Annet Anita Among was born on the 23rd November 1973 in Bukedea District where she attended her elementary and secondary education and later graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Degree from Makerere University in 2005 and in 2008 was awarded with Master of Business Administration at Makerere University, In 2018 she obtained a Bachelors Of Laws degree from Kampala International University as she was in the process of attaining qualifications as a chartered certified Accountant.
The Speaker from 1998 to 2006 worked at Centenary Bank and at the time of departure she was at the rank of Bank Manager as she served as a lecturer in accounting at Makerere University Business School and Kampala International University.
