There has been rampant infrastructural destruction by NEMA in the recent days as the National Environmental Authority which has carried out operation of different putting down of different structures and building that were built or constructed homes and structures that have been found in wetlands.
It has been known that building and contrition of infrastructures in Wetlands is considered and the most recent victims are the people or residents of Lubigi swamp where the biggest percentage of housing that is homes of Lubigi resident have been put down making these people homeless and poor prplr.
Different people have been seen criticizing the move by NEMA saying this operation was brought to target the poor people and putting and giving space to the rich who are being given these pieces of land in these wetlands in the name of developing these areas.
People have come out to contest this decision and the breaking down of these houses, today Joel Ssenyonyi was seen at the grounds of Lubigi to try and find a solution to NEMA Breaking down these houses.
Ssenyonyi met and gathered the residents of Lubigi to hear them out and try to seek for solutions on how to try and stop whatever NEMA is doing them and their house hold.
During the gathering, the police showed up to the place they had gathered shooting live ammunition along with teargas onto the member of parliament Joel Ssenyonyi and were able to disperse this gathering.
