The Uganda Police Force through its spokesperson Fred Enanga has confirmed after conclusive consultation has halted all National Unity Platform consultive meetings after the death of three of their supporters along Kampala Masaka highway.
The said accident happened on Friday as the National Unity Platform party president was headed to Masaka for their titled #NUPCountryTourWide2, this was also after a meeting held with security forces and gave them a greenlight.
“The police management has decided to halt any further consultative activities of NUP as a party with immediate effect until this matter is conclusively investigated and resolved” – Fred Enanga said
The said accident involved two motor vehicles and four motorcycles which were part of the motorcade procession of National Unity Platform (NUP) that was heading to Masaka. The accident is said to have aroused from reckless driving and excess speed by the drivers and riders.
The two parties had just come to an agreement and see the tour a success, this was given a greenlight after a meeting at the Police Head Quarters in Nagulu, but after the accident the Police had to revoke the agreement and investigate first before anything could be done by the party.
