Videos allover social media of thugs kicking and attacking people some on boda bodas most others on foot stealing, robbing and hurting people in on streets in the night and in broad day light.
People have come out crying to the police saying they are not really safe with these kind of attacks on the citizen of Uganda be it Day Time or night.
The Uganda Police has today come out through its assistant police spokesperson in Kampala metropolitan Luke oweyesigire to comment on the most recent video of the incident that happened at Ben Kiwanuka Street.
“The Kampala Metropolitan Police wishes to inform the public about an ongoing investigation following a disturbing incident captured on CCTV.
The footage, which has been circulating on social media, shows a man identified as Mugisha Tomson, 40 years old and a resident of Kyebando, being assaulted by unidentified assailants.
The attack occurred around Ben Kiwakuka Street at approximately 8 PM yesterday, May 22nd, 2024. We have since established that during the incident, the victim was robbed of 450,000 UGX, a bag containing important documents, keys, and a container.
The Central Police Station in Kampala has promptly opened inquiries into this attack. So far, two suspects have been identified and are currently assisting with the ongoing investigations.
