Uganda police has been listed as one of the best human rights abusers in the country upto date with evidence of a number of videos that are being posted online.
Some of these videos show the way police officers make there arrests either by beating up or even abducting the suspect.
In another video that has reached online. Down in Mbarara two woman said to be civilians are seen dragging an elderly lady through mad led by police officer who has been identified as .ASP Andrew Betunga.
The video has sound in the background of a lady said to be the daughter of the lady being dragged and she was claiming that her mother is being arrested for some land and the person behind it paid handsomely for her mother to be taken away.
Hon. Minister for the youth Atyeeyi Balaam has condemned the kind of aresst that was done on the lady and how it abuses the kind of things the president fight for.
“This is betrayal of our Mzee’s legacy by officers . Outraged by the horrific treatment of a grandmother by some of our officers. These actions are unacceptable and deserve severe consequences. I urge our Security leaders to take decisive action against these unprofessional and indisciplined officers. Impunity and disrespect have no place in our country.

The police has addressed the matter and says they have apprehended all the officers involved including the ladies who are said to be detectives,

The officers involved in the incident are:
1.ASP Andrew Betunga (in uniform)
2.Detective Constable Darious Aharizira
3.Detective Constable Hope Nsasirwe and,
4.Detective Constable Loyce Kiboneka
These officers were executing an arrest of the female seen dragged in the mud. She is resident from Lubiri cell in Mbarara City.
All the four have since been arrested and are currently detained in Mbarara.
